Measuring Social Impact: A Practical Approach

Any organisation from the smallest community group to the largest social enterprise can introduce social impact measurement into what they do and it doesn't have to take up much time or cost money.
This half-day training will be highly interactive, practical and dynamic, and is for anyone working or volunteering in a voluntary organisation or community group of any size. Social Impact Measurement is particularly useful for those in the Health & Social Care sector, especially if you might be considering tendering for contracts in the future, but will be helpful for any kind of business planning and/or fundraising.
The session will introduce the concept of Measuring Social Impact, how we decide what to measure, how to get started and tools and resources available to help us put it into practice. One such impact measurement tool is SROI (Social Return on Investment) which is used to place a financial worth on the social value that an organisation creates through its activities, outputs and outcomes.

FREE Community Leadership Training in Barnet for BVSC Members and organisations registered with Volunteer Centre Barnet
BVSC has teamed up with Birkbeck, University of London to bring community leadership training to Barnet - for BVSC members and organisations registered with Volunteer Centre Barnet.
- The training starts in January 2010, and will run over five separate days, one month apart
- There are sixteen places and these are FREE to BVSC members and organisations registered with Volunteer Centre Barnet
- The training consists of one module of Birkbeck, University of London’s Community Leadership Certificate HE
- The module focuses on community-based project development and management
- BVSC is accepting applications for the training from 30th September 2009 to 11th November 2009 – please note that places will be allocated partly on a first-come-first served basis.
